Indian Association of Charlottesville is a non profit organization representing the Indian-American community in the Charlottesville, VA area. Since its inception Indian Association of Charlottesville (IAC) has been playing an important role in bringing the Indian community in Charlottesville together to celebrate India’s festivals and special occasions. IAC has been able to accomplish this feat because of the dedication and hard work of it’s volunteer officers and continued enthusiastic support from the Indian and Non-Indian community in the Charlottesville area.
Our main goal is to provide useful information to the members, apart from our monthly newsletters and event calendar. We will provide a few important links on our site for the Indian Community like National Holidays and festivals. So enjoy your stay on the site and check back to find out various additions to the site.
As of January 1, 2010, The Indian Association of Charlottesville is a non-profit 501(c) tax exempt organization!
It has been a long term goal for all of the Association Members and Volunteers to classify the IAC as a non-profit 501(c) tax exempt organization. A special thank you goes out to all that made this happen. Please donate freely now that we have reacheds this wonderful status.
The purpose of the Indian Association of Charlottesville is to support and encourage the participation and appreciation of all positive aspects of the Indian culture -- especially its dual characteristics of unity amidst diversity.
Furthermore, its goal is to contribute to the broader American culture of which it is a strong supporting part.
We are all strengthened by the common American/Indian belief in the dignity of all cultures under the umbrella of a common respect for the free expression of the differences inherent in all individuals and groups.
